Kaylee's Field Trip

Last week I went on a field trip with Kaylee and her kindergarten class to the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines.  We spent a couple of hours there walking around and seeing all the animals.  Then we took our lunches just outside the zoo entrance near the playground area, and there we all ate our sack lunches together.  On the way back to school we stopped in Story City to learn about the carousel and the kids got to have two rides on it.  After that they played in the park and had a snack before heading back to school.  It was a fun day and I was glad I got to go too!

Time for Pictures

Yesterday we took the boys to Waterloo to get their pictures taken.  Dylan for his 3 year pictures, and Ryan's 3 month pictures.  They also took some pictures of the boys together, which turned out really well.  We were really happy with the photos we got, the hardest part is narrowing it down and trying to figure out which ones to buy!!!  We ended up with these first three poses of Ryan, two different ones of them together, and four poses of Dylan.  The pictures after that are just some of the other shots they took.  They were really fast and both of the boys cooperated too!

Happy 3rd Birthday Dylan!!!

Today was Dylan's 3rd birthday.  As soon as he got up this morning he was ready to open presents.  His favorite gift from us was a big wheel!  Grant decorated it with stickers from the vinyl shop.  The big wheel has Dylan's name on it, some checkered flags, and will soon have sticker of Lightning McQueen and Mater on it too.  Since it rained most of the day we weren't able to take it outside and try it out, but Dylan did ride it around the house a little.  We also made cupcakes and Dylan and Kaylee decorated them.  Because it rained Grant was able to be home tonight and not have to go to the field, so we all got to spend the evening together.  It was a nice day for all of us!!!

Dylan's Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Dylan's third birthday.  We had the party at my parents shop and decorated it with Lightning McQueen and some of the other cars from the movie.  Grant even made a birthday banner at the vinyl shop that had Dylan's picture on it along with Lightning McQueen.  Dylan was so excited when he saw it!!!  

Dylan's birthday is on Wednesday the 13th, so I'll be posting more pictures after he opens his presents from us.  We think he will be excited about it, but we'll have to wait and see!

Dylan loves to sing, so here he is entertaining everyone.  Can't tell he likes to be the center of attention can you?!?
