Playing Dress Up

Kaylee got her dress up clothes out over the weekend and her and Dylan decided to play dress up.  I don't know if Dylan got to pick out what he wore or if Kaylee just dressed him, but this is what they had on when they came out of their room.  I'm sure Dylan will love these pictures when he gets older!!!

Dylan the cheerleader!

Kaylee dressed up as a doctor.

Ryan is now 6 weeks old!  Seems like the time has just flown by.  He has been smiling so much lately and is sleeping better at night too.  This weekend he had has first sleepover at Grammie & Pa's house, which meant that we got to go out for the first time since he was born.  We went out with some friends from high school and had a great time!!!  Ryan had a fun night too!

Smiling Kids

Kaylee has been such a great helper with Ryan.  She loves to hold him and when he has a bottle she likes to be the one to feed him.  Whenever we go somewhere she always gets him covered up in his car seat while I'm unbuckling Dylan and by the time I get over to Ryan's side to get him out, she has him all ready to go!  She has definitely made things easier for us!!!

This past week Ryan has been giving us a few smiles here and there, but today he really started showering us with his smiles!  We tried to grab the camera quick to capture some of those big grins, and here are a couple of the shots we got.  We love his dimples too!

This past weekend we were also able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather!  The kids had so much fun just being outside and getting to play with some toys they hadn't played with for awhile.  They both played in the sandbox and sand kind of got flung everywhere and some how Dylan ended up with it in his mouth.  At first he was mad and didn't like it, but once he found out that we thought it was funny, he started laughing too.

Family Time

March 2, 2009 - Kaylee still loves holding Ryan, and whenever she has him Dylan wants to be right there beside them too.

March 6, 2009 - Ryan is one month old today!  Hard to believe, it seems like we just brought him home from the hospital!!!  He's starting to like his pacifier now too.  He mostly just uses it when he's in his car seat or swing, but it sure seems to calm him down.

Grant's Uncle Dale won this big Snoopy dog at Adventureland and gave it to us when Kaylee was a baby.  For each kid we've used it to take pictures of them as a baby and at least monthly after that to show how much they've grown.  Dylan wanted to get in this picture with Ryan too.

Ryan and Snoopy at one month old.

Grant's sister and her kids were home for the weekend and we got a picture of Ryan and Kendall together.  After each one of the kids were born we got a picture of them with their cousin that was closest in age to them. (Ryan is one month old and Kendall is 7 months old)

Grant's cousin Alison came home this weekend too.  She lives in Hobbs, New Mexico, and was home for a bridal shower that her sister had planned for her.  While she was home we got to all hang out together at Grandma Oskvig's house.  Since she lives so far away this was obviously the first time she had seen Ryan, so we wanted to get a picture of the two of them together.

Ryan's baptism

On February 22nd, Ryan was baptized.  Since he was only 2 weeks old, we had a hard time finding an outfit to fit him.  After looking we decided to see if my Great-Aunt Alice would be willing to make one for him.  She said she would be happy to do it and she did a wonderful job!!!  It was a one piece outfit and had a little vest attached to it.  It turned out very cute!

Both Aunt Paula and Aunt Lori stood up as his godmothers.

While Paula was home for the weekend we got a picture of the cousins at Grandma Oskvig's house.  This was the first time we had gotten a picture of all six of the Oskvig/Werner cousins.  All of the kids are under the age of 6, so you can imagine the fun they have when they all get together!  Dylan (2 1/2 yrs.), Kaylee (5 1/2 yrs.), Ryan (2 weeks), Colin (5 yrs.), Brent (3 yrs.), and Kendall (7 months).
This is one of Grant's favorite parts about having a newborn, the excuse to get to lay down and take a nap with Ryan!
Lately Dylan and Kaylee have been fighting over who gets to hold Ryan.  Whenever one of them asks to hold him the other one gets mad because they wanted to.  But at least they like their new little brother!!!  Kaylee said to me the other day, "Which brother do you think I like the best?"  I told her that she liked both of them, but she said, "I like one of them better, guess which one."  Turns out she likes Ryan better because she can hold him and he doesn't get into her stuff!

Ryan Daniel Oskvig - 3 weeks old

A friend suggested that I try blogging as a way to share pictures and update our family and friends about the Oskvig family.  So here is my first attempt at posting some pictures!

On Friday, Ryan was 3 weeks old.  We've always liked black and white pictures and when Dylan was a baby we had a few taken of him at the studio.  Looking at those pictures we decided to try it ourselves and these are the pictures we got of Ryan.  We thought they turned out pretty well!
